read this, quite cool:

Charles Schultz Philosophy

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

Pass this on to those people who have made a difference in your life.
"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." (Charles Schultz)

Hi all,

Can everyone read this email from Vivien Goldman,
she is giving us permission to release the
song "Laundrette", but she says she doesn't have a
good master and that we should buy the record and do it that way.

Can everyone keep an eye out? If you find it let me know, we have to get this song for the forthcoming all-girls compilation Girl Monster on CoS Records!

:) searching for Laundrette!

Subject: DJs contra la Fam - Closing...

Greetings from Djs contra la Fam

As a DJ that has taken part in this event you deserve to be informed about the results of this project.

As you probably saw, everything went very well.

A few numbers:

11 DJs from the 24th (plus 4 from the presentation party) and five live VJs.

54 voluntaries.

684 people paid for tickets.

52 invites for press, sponsors, and companies related to the sector.

6.039 EUR were made on tickets and profits from the bar, all of which will be destined for the completion of the building of the public dinner in the Obra Social de Santa Lluisa de Marillac.

The days just before the festival there were references to DJS CONTRA LA FAM all the way up to the 5th "O" on Google search engine.

There were no problems during it and nobody needed medical assistance.

One thousand smiles.

In summary, it was a pleasure which we hope to continue enjoying in the coming editions.

> Thank you very much for all your support,

Eduard García - DJs contra la Fam

MADRID!!!! MACHO!!!

madrid was a great party UNTIL the resident dj physically forced kiki and i from the decks. he firstly stood close behind us, telling us to get off, following that he put down the faders, then threw my vinyl off and pushed me in the chest, holding my arm tightly. of course, after this act of aggression, i too pushed him back, you could say we had a bit of a tussel, the guy was a maniac.

we and friends, realised the situation could be dangerous, and kiki and i gave up and left the decks, after playing 2 hours 25 minutes, our show was contracted for 3 hours.

in the future, we really need to check the promoters, clubs and resident djs out, this guy definitely had a jealousy problem. thanks to a friend of ours we managed to escape the club without the situation escalating.

wow, what a DICKHEAD!

i just want to know his name, maybe we can let others know about him... warn other djs.

CoS in Moscow with Nina and Irina (image sent by Alex)

28 april 2005

In anticipation of their upcoming Moscow gig, Brian Droitcour of Go magazine (Moscow) interviewed one of the Chicks, Alex Murray-Leslie, originally of Australia and now residing in Barcelona.

Are you looking forward to your second gig here?

A: Absolutely. The crowds don't just look spacey and out of this world, they are truly fans of crowd participation, which is one thing we value very much.

What else impressed you about Moscow?

A: I was very surprised by the mud-covered cars, it reminded me of the Mad Max films that I was a big fan of when I was growing up in Australia.

My first impressions of Moscow were something in between a Wim Wenders film and Mad Max. It truly competes as a new type of world city, full of weirdness, originality and hypermodernity, alongside Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore and Sao Paolo. These cities are so excited to go into the future that they stand way out past the oh-so-trendy and boring places like New York, London, and Paris.

Your latest album is called Press the Spacebar! Why?

A: We use that term before we go on stage. We ask our sound technician to "press the spacebar" and shazam! The show begins!

There's a song on Press the Spacebar! about the joys of housework. Do you seriously love chores?

A: When you travel as much as we do, and stay in uncommon places, you start to miss all of the normal things in life, waking up in the same bed, etc. People always want what they can't have. I have to say it's quite comforting to be at home with your loved one and sweep, dust or vacuum clean. No joke!

It calms you down. I would have to say I am really into vacuuming.

why do we need to do it if there are kids with time on their hands to do it for us.
